LESSON 10: COMPUTER AS A TUTOR

REFLECTION:

As we all know, computers are one of the wonders of human ingenuity. When we say ingenuity, it is the skill and imagination to create new things. There are a lot of things that a computer do to provide new information relevant to learning, fasten individuals work and etc.
          Computers can also act like a tutor and a teacher’s partner in imparting knowledge to the students due to the fact that technology integration is crucial in the part of a teacher because we are now in the modern era. Even though computer can act like a tutor, it can’t replace the teacher in the classroom.
          Computer is not a substitute for teacher in imparting ideas to the students; hence it is only a partner of a teacher in teaching so that the teaching and learning process would become interactive and meaningful. It can’t replace the teacher in all aspect of learning because the teacher has a unique and special ability or strategies used in teaching that computer can’t do or produce.





LESSON 11: THE COMPUTER AS THE TEACHER’S

         Lesson 11 talks about computer as a teacher’s tool. For me, as a future educator, it is very important to incorporate computer in imparting knowledge to the learners provided that computers can give a vast amounts of information in various forms. It is also used for communication such as our emails/gmails and other social medias. It is also used for constructing information in a most attractive way such as PPT and etc.
          There are many things that a computer can do to foster learning into a more effective and meaningful way.







LESSON 12: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY IN SUPPORT OF STUDENT-CENTERED LEARNING

This lesson or chapter shows the difference between traditional classroom and Student-centered classroom supported by IT. As we can see in the illustration above, the SCL classroom is more on Student-centered instruction while T classroom is more on teacher-centered instruction.
          As we all know, computer (Information Technology) plays a great role in the fulfillment of SCL classroom. Because of the technology integration in the classroom, it would lead to student-centered classroom wherein the students will become an active learners and the teacher his/herself will only be a manager and a guide for learning.





LESSON 13: COOPERATIVE LEARNING WITH THE COMPUTER

          Cooperative learning is one of the teaching strategies used by the teacher to insure productive learning among students. A group must develop a spirit of teamwork and communication to produce a good output.
          For me, it is very necessary to integrate computer with cooperative learning in teaching specifically in activity. Through computer, it can promote learning and most of all, it can provide a greater cooperation or collaboration among the members of the group to extract ideas about the topic. Besides, with the partnership of cooperative learning and computer, it can enhance social skills and computer literacy skills among students.





LESSON 15: UNDERSTANDING HYPERMEDIA

          The main tenet of lesson 15 is all about Hypermedia.
          Hypermedia as we all know is a database format similar to hypertext in which text, sound, or video images related to that on a display that can be accesses directly from the display.
          It is very important for a teacher to use hypermedia in his/her lesson due to the fact that hypermedia provides personalized learning activities for the learners. With that, it will help the slow learners because it gives activities that are suited to the learning objectives as well as the needs and interest of the learners. Hypermedia in teaching shows and presents a diverse or varied media that will fit for the fast and slow learners.
          With the help of hypermedia, it will be easy for the teacher to present his or her topic to the whole class.

LESSON 1: A REVIEW OF EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY

      We all know that Educational Technology is the application of technology in the educative process wherein it is use to introduce, supplement, and extend skills of the learners to achieve meaningful learning. Educational technology helps us to become more aware on the use of computers in our learning. It teaches us to become a computer literate individual. Our prior knowledge about computer will be enhance. With the help of educational technology, the teaching and learning process would be meaningful and interactive.





LESSON 2: AN OVERVIEW: EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY 2


CONCERNED OF: "INTEGRATING TECHNOLOGY INTO TEACHING AND LEARNING".

       Technology plays a vital role in the teaching and learning process. Integrating Technology in teaching would be of greater help for the teachers in presenting their lessons in the whole class. Through Technology integration, it will boost the interest of the learners to listen and respond attentively to your discussion. It can also cater the varied learning styles of the students. Besides, using technology make the teaching-learning process becomes more interactive and effective.
     Technology integration plays a crucial part in the life of every students wherein they will be able to realize the importance and values off technology in learning new information rather than games and etc.






LESSON 3: " EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY IN THE ASIA PACIFIC REGION"

       Most of the countries in the Asia Pacific Region such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, And Australia,  already adopted their own policies and had created an educational technology environment in their schools and these countries are now progressive.
         It is very necessary to implement the policy and strategy in using technology in every schools in the country in order for us to know the beneficial effects of Educational Technology in learning new knowledge. We all know that we are now living in the modern era wherein we are now fully equipped with technology. With that, we need to know how and when to use it.





LESSON 4: " BASIC CONCEPTS ON INTEGRATING TECHNOLOGY IN INSTRUCTION"

          This lesson deals with the basic concepts in integrating technology in instruction.
               Using technology as a medium for instruction will be useful in the part of a teacher to attain the effectiveness of the teaching and learning process. For instance, using of powerpoint presentation in presenting your lesson to the class. Through the different effects used in PPT and its attractive design, it can catch the attention and interest of the students to listen and watch your presentation. Unlike to those teachers who are using traditional method of teaching (e.g. chalk, books, and etc.). Technology integration could also help the students to become computer literate.





LESSON 6:  "IT ENTERS A NEW LEARNING ENVIRONMENT"

        The four conceptual models of learning talks about the different approaches wherein the different experiences of the learners are involved to create a new learning which is meaningful and is applicable in the real life situation.
                 These four models of learning were very helpful in the integration of technology in teaching and learning process. Besides, these models will serve as a guiding principles in the part of the teacher on what kind of instruction does he or she will apply to the students using technology with the help of these conceptual models of learning and how to enhance the skills and ability of the students to present new knowledge and solve problems that is/are relevance to their life and serve as an application into their daily life situation.

LESSON 16
USING THE PROJECT- BASED LEARNING MULTIMEDIA AS A TEACHING-LEARNING STRATEGY

REFLECTION:
Project-based learning multimedia can be use as a teaching-learning strategy wherein it can help the teacher in achieving a better outcome of the teaching and learning process.
It engages the students in some learning by doing activities wherein it could develop or enhance their critical thinking, skills, and ability in doing the project.

It is important in the part of the teacher to plan first before conducting a project-based learning multimedia. Make sure that the method will suit to your objectives. Set time or extended time allotted to your activity. Consider also the capacity of the learners to do the task. Make sure that there is teamwork between the members of the group and the most important is to conduct an assessment to ensure if the students learned the topic.

PROJECT-BASED LEARNING AND MULTIMEDIA: WHAT IT IS?

            Project- based multimedia learning is a teaching method in which students acquire new knowledge and skills in the course of designing, planning, and producing multimedia product.
            Project-based multimedia learning engages the students to create a multimedia product to measure their learning capacity. This multimedia learning enhance and develop the skills and creative thinking of the students in making a better output or product for their presentation. Project-based engages learning by doing activity wherein the students learned by creating it by themselves.
Project-based multimedia learning is not an easy method because it requires time, and make sure that the project- based will fit to your objective and goals and you must consider the skills of the learners in making the project- based multimedia.



LESSON 13
TEACHING WITH VISUAL SYMBOLS

Visual symbol is a representation of symbols. In here, we don’t see real things. There were a lot of visual symbols as seen in the above figure.
Visual symbols help us to recognize things with symbols. Visual symbols are very important in the part of the teacher especially in preparing his or her lessons. Visual symbols can create a lively teaching because it will keep your teaching crispy and fresh. Though it requires more time and effort in the part of the teacher in preparing it but it can help the teacher to achieve an effective teaching and learning process. It could also help the students to understand well the topic because of the visual symbols.






LESSON 12
THE POWER OF FILM, VIDEO, AND TV IN THE CLASSROOM

            Visual media such as films, videos, televisions, were some tools to achieve a meaningful teaching and learning process.
            Films, videos, and televisions serves as a partner of a teacher in presenting appropriately his or her lesson in the class. Through these visual media, it can enhance the learning capacity of the students to understand well the lesson because of the visual presentation made by this media.
            These visual media has a beneficial effect to us if we use it in the right way. However, if we overused it, it could harm our mental and health condition. We must use it in a proper way in which we can gain knowledge out of it. Not in a bad one.

MAKING THE MOST OF COMMUNITY RESOURCES AND FIELD TRIPS

REFLECTION:
            Field Trip study serves as a connection from the school to the outside world. It is an activity wherein it could expose the learners to the world that is full of adventures and learning. Field trip study can enhance the knowledge of the learners about some things that they are curious of.

            As a future teacher, we must set first our goals or plans for the field trip study that we are going to make so that the flow of the activity is good. In conducting a field trip study, we must conduct a post activities related to the study in order to value the essence of the activity in the life of the students.
